DLE 30 & 35RA vs EME 35

Just wondering what you folks thought of these engines. Both have good and bad reports, but honestly haven't seen much that isn't a couple years old. Hoping some of you could give me a little newer review.
Have a Top Flite Stinson SR 9 with ST 2300, but wish to switch to gas, and have a Mr Aerodesign DHC2 Beaver to build, which I plan to fly on wheels, floats, and skis.
Your thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Re: DLE 30 & 35RA vs EME 35

I have only tried the DLE35ra so I can not speak for the other two, I got the 35ra on sale last year, so it was same price as the eme but I liked the rear exhaust on the dle verses having to buy a eme motor + a wrap around muffler for my application. My first gas powered airplane.
Anyway, 15 flips from the box and the 35ra was running. I barley had to ritchen the needles if at all, (I probably could have left them where they were set right out of the box)
First three flights, had a burble on low to half, now after 9 flights and just barley touching the needles the burbling is pretty much gone.
smoooth idle after a 8 minute flight puurrs like a kitten.
The best part, is I fly my escapade around at less than half throttle! 3/4 and will pull my plane vertical with ease,
19x8 wood prop, oil 32:1,(penzoil) NGK CM6 plug from the start
Needless to say, I LOVE my 35 ra so far

Re: DLE 30 & 35RA vs EME 35

Got an EME35 last season, came with a faulty hall sensor, replaced under warranty. Runs like a champ. Little adjustment on 30:1 / 91 octane. It sat through the winter then got put into a new air frame and started after a bunch of flips with some priming as it was bone dry. Made a small needle adjustment and flew all day. So far so good. I have heard of some guys having some bearing issues after many flights and if you ask our friend google you will find many comparison reviews to help you in your search. Personally I would not hesitate to get another one and I know I am not alone. Also with two Canadian stores keeping parts and covering warranty its an added bonus.

Thanks fellows for your views on the two 35s. Sounds like both are good engines as I myself figured. Just have to decide which configuration of the exhaust will work best for me.

One thing to think about when buying a motor is the availability of parts. It will break at some point or leak or something. I never have had any problems with my dle 20. I'm sure the Dle 30 is a great motor also. Can't comment on eme engines.

I can't comment on quality of the DLE but my EME was very good to me. What i can say for sure is that the two best Canadian suppliers (ProRC/ThunderboltRC) sell and support EME. Makes it a no brainer for me!

Had another 3 x 15 min flights today on my EME 35 running a 20x6 falcon. Runs well, pulls well, reliable! I am happy
