Re: New AMR Extra 260_43%

Last few days I worked on the 7 feet long belly and start on the canopy. I wish to complete the fuse for the end of february.

Re: New AMR Extra 260_43%

I did not post for a long time. Unfortunately 6 weeks ago I fell and I broke my heel bone during a hard landing. Recovery required a month without being able to stand. Now I'm back in the garage to complete my project.

Before installing the rudder fin and the turtle deck I install the landing gear and tail wheel.

The fin is installed by ensuring well be square to the fuselage. I draw lines for aligment and confirm with a straigh rule before gluing. Instead of immobilizing with tape, I put a weight on the parts

Re: New AMR Extra 260_43%

Turtle deck have been install. As you can see, it's a one long piece wrap around the rudder fin. No planks to fit and it really line up.

Sorry to hear about your accident! Good to see you back at the build. Like I said before, it's really cool to see the innovations that AMR puts into these kits!

Re: New AMR Extra 260_43%

Thanks Trumpetman by chance that could be worst for me. Now with the rudder and turtle deck install that fuse is realy huge (a true 43%) and the way that Yves design it , I never see an airframe stiff as this one for the weight. That would increase for sure the precision flight for all IMAC maneuver.

Re: New AMR Extra 260_43%

Yesterday night I glue the stab trailing edge and elevator leading edge so I’m ready for shaping. First I sand down the ½ balsa block flush to the skin for each panel. And ready to draw sanding line for the bevel. AMR gave a nice feature as a rule of different spacing measure depending on the desired degree of deflection. For my satisfaction and since I put 20º for the front and 25ºfor the rear bevel on all my plane I always use trigonometry to find the deep of the bevel for the tip and the root. Now am sure that the gab will be close all the way when the surface will be deployed to there up and down maximum deflection.
