just beware that your mail in rebate will normally take 3-6 months to reach you.

"just beware that your mail in rebate will normally take 3-6 months to reach you."

Sometimes. I find that if you give them a prod after a month, it'll be in the mail next day. These promo deals are great, but the promoters are hoping that you will forget about it after a few months have passed. Really. Tex.

Keep in mind, the prices at places like Canada Computers apply to cash sales only and usually apply to OEM versions of products. So with this in mind, the price at Future Shop on this particular HDD after rebate is still pretty good.

Of course, 6 months from now it won't be so good.

sign up here Price Network . It is the only Canadian site I know of for computer folks. You can enter the product you are looking for and it will search a huge number of Canadian retailers and list the results by PRICE.

Excellent results. Buyers can also rate the individual sellers so that deal from XYZ Computers may be low but service is non-existent.

Give them a try.

There is no difference between OEM products and boxed stuff. OEMs are exactly the same exept they usually come wrapped in a plain package and don't come with cables. The OEM concept was meant for small custom system bulders but home end users can find real bargains with them.

All well and good points. Just remember that Future Shop provides absolutely free delivery, even if you just order a 5 pack dvd+r for 2.99. Yes .60 each with cases and free delivery. They have had many great deals like that.
They had a sale about 6 months ago which include 160GB hard drives for $100. Some fantastic deals, at times.

I do not work for them. I do not own their stock. I just like deals.

That's exactly what this one is going to cost when the rebates kick into it. Total with tax is 120.00, after the rebate. Those other places you guys posted are still good too but will cost more after taxes and shipping. I rebate stuff all the time and know exactly how long it takes to get the funds back and it doesn't bother me. As long as I get it back I'm happy, and I have yet to NOT get a rebate back on an item.
