Last 2 years ran one H9 twin Otter with lotsa long leads ( 34 inchers - a pair) as elevators have two servos in the tail ; one of those systems that never heard of servo lead ; ESC and motor interference problems and the other TO on floats ; same thing. The other is a deuces twin with a jumble of servo wires to the receiver and electric retracts ; again rock solid and no interference problems and a couple of 3 channel park flyers. Kinda nice to not have to worry. This way I can put my hard earned cash into quality servos, ESC's and brushless motors. Basicly plug n' play , only programing I need to do is at the transmitter and if I plug something into a wrong receiver input , just go to the transmitter and make any changes needed and don't have to pull the aircraft apart to replug .

Many years ago I built a 12 foot servo extension for someone controlling a balloon from a gondola, shielded twisted pair cable driven push/pull, worked great.
