advice needed

Hey guy`s
Im just trying to find out where a beginner should go when getting into gas
I sold most of my nitro stuff and want to get into 50cc gas.
Somewhere in the 80-84" wing, ARF,Edge,Extra,Cap.
I have a JR 6102 radio, and would also like to know if digital servos
are a must for this size aircraft to perform airobatics/ 3D.
Where can I find the maneuvers for basic airobatics procedures.
Any help would be greatly apreciated . Thanks Kevin

first gas

Hi Kevin, gals to see you are joining the gasser club, for a start, you can't go wrong with a DA 50, unless you want to fly 3D it will fly up to a 20 pound plane quite well, for a plane look at the aeroworks 27% katana, hanger 9 cap is real nice with the DA, you don't need digital servo's but hi torque are almost a necessity, for safety reasons, due to more vibration, i would suggest buying the best servo's you can afford, that way if you go to a bigger plane you won't have to buy servo's again. as for the maneouvers, do you mean sequences for IMAC? or just the manoeuvers? Bob hudson has teh sequences on his website. any other questions, don't hesitate to ask, i am sure there will be others chime in wuith suggestions too.

Hi Kevin, for scale aerobatics, most of us who compete belong to IMAC, see here www.mini-iac.com
Also, as Bill said, try Bob Hudson's site, http://www.rcflier.com/

Sequences can be found at either location.

What area of Ontario is your city in?

I have seen Don fly many of times but don`t know him personally. Bob would you mind if I used your name when contacting him, only to say you sent me in his direction for help. What model would you recommend for a first gasser, and have you seen the YW-48B2 ? Ya Im only 25 minutes from chatham.

Ok, I just went and scoped out the YW website,

I cant imagine for the life of me why you would consider one of these at $680.00 bucks. They advertise it swings a 20x8 prop
http://www.ywengines.com/modules.php...=index&cPath=1

compared to a DA-50 at $550.00, which will swing a 24 x 8 prop
http://www.desertaircraft.com/engine...p?Page=DA-50-R

No comparison in my mind !! DA-50 wins this debate hands down.

I have never seen a DA50 at an event, only the 100&150 and they run excellent, is the 50 comparable for it`s size. I thought the twin would vibrate a little less but it would probably take forever for any service. I will definetely go with the DA 50.
