Is it just me, or is there anyone else out there who believes that Futaba may be trying to pull a fast one (no pun) with the introduction of the Futaba 10 CAP FASST transmitter? Futaba will tell you that the 72 MHz antenna and the 2.4 gig antenna that the transmitter is equipped with, is to allow the user the flexibility to use both the new and old technology. However, the pessimist in me believes that Futaba missed the 2.4 gig boat, designed a new 72 MHz transmitter and then converted it to 2.4 to sell already manufactured stock

Re: New Futaba 10 CAP

I am thinking that they may have wanted to get the people who are sitting on the fence. So here is a Tx that will give one the ability to use it on both the 2.4 GHz and 72 MHz.

Re: New Futaba 10 CAP

I'm game for having the option to do both, and from what I have read the signal is digital on 2.4 and does not us PPM so the latency is greatly reduced from if you were to use a module. It is also 2048 resolution on 2.4, however still does retain 1024 on PCM.

I have one on the way so I'm sure I will find out soon enough if I wasted my money, lol.

Re: New Futaba 10 CAP

It sold me due to the fact that I don't have to junk my 72mhz stuff. Like I would want too spend $700 bucks on a radio to fly one plane or spend another $1000.00 to convert every thing over.I would rather do it slowly as I need more recievers. The wait sucks but I could be waiting for a 12x.

Re: New Futaba 10 CAP

Peter

Futaba's strategy is to release systems capable of both modulations (2.4, 72, 50 etc.) on module based systems. They feel it affords the most flexibility.

There was no goof, its how they feel they can best support the current market. All of the past and present module based systems support all frequencies, from the old 7 Supers, to the 14MZ.

As someone who has 2.4 and 72, and 4 transmitters, I quite enjoy being able to use either. If I were forced to switch everything over I would be divorced!
