Hey guys I am looking at the KMP Flycat. It is a jet style pusher prop, I was wondering if anyone has had one of these?

Re: KMP Flycat

I have the 46 size Flycat. Not a plane for a new flyer.
The plane has a tendancy to roll, something to watch for. CG is very critical. Check the Flycat thread on RCU, there some very good tips on increasing the the width of the winglets and tail. The manual was a hoot - bad translations and about 2/3s of the manual was about installing retracts, which are not available. The overall construction is good, but not much info on how to install the fixed landing gear.

Flying the plane, it can be really quick, yet on landing 1st time I was expecting to have come in fast, but the fly cat just floated down the field like a trainer.

Becareful on starting the engine in a pusher mode. You can't use the regular glow starter, becuase the tail assembly is in the way. Use the alligator clip type with remote battery. The becareful part is, not to get the wire tangled in the prop.

Not much room for a full size prop - ground clearance and tail assembly - a 10-6 2 blade pusher works OK

Re: KMP Flycat

Ya, I would buy another one. For the price and the way ARFs are costing, the Flycat is interesting to explore. The 40 and 120 sizes are around the $180 and $200, not bad for the market.
