Does anyone have a general set-up that works for the SCTE at Joe's? Looking for a good baseline to get started when I get out there running next.

Thanks

5-3-3 OR 5-5-2(f/c/r) diffs. 40wt front, 30 wt rear shocks. Emulsion shock mod helps everywhere for me. Pick up the Losi shock spring set and use the black front spring and orange rear. Put the battery in the back position for outdoor, helps the truck fly level. Ride height 27mmf&r.

This setup, specifically with 5-5-2 and Gridiron in soft compound is what I used at literally every track last summer, and it was good enough to win 4x4SCT overall in the Ontario -----------. I did mod it a little, I have my rear shocks mounted directly to the back of the arms, seems to help my truck through the bumps. Only problem I had was keeping motor temps down. Oh, and it doesn't really matter what fluid you put in the diffs because it won't be in the diffs anymore by the end of the race, so stock up on fluid. The diffs are poo.

Thanks Semple! Could you explain the rear shock mounting position a bit more?

Here is a link to a setup that most of the factory tlr guys are using on their scte's these days on tracks ranging from blown out 1/8 tracks to clay indoor high grips tracks.
I used this setup at a race in quebec recently on a very very tight indoor medium traction track and it worked very well with a few slight tweaks.

I used a setup much like Semple's at average joe's last year and it was good but i find the truck much nicer with the linked setup.

I'll see you there Mac!

Thanks Dave, I have seen a few set-up sheets floating around but wasn't sure what would work best for our area. Most seemed to be for tight indoor smooth tracks, definitely not what we race on here. I'll give both a shot and see what I like best.

Semple, thanks for your help and the rest of your groups last year. You guys sure learned a bunch about the Scte last year and your advice helped make my first outings with the Scte more fun!

No worries, Dave. We all had a lot of fun with the truck. I hope you'll be joining us on the stand for RCPro 4x4SCT races this summer. I predict a far more competitive field.
