Reconfigure EFlite Apprentice S15e receiver

Hello,

Does anyone know where I can find information on how to re-configure the receiver in my EFlite Apprentice S15e receiver. Want to be able to change it so my elevator does not flutter when flying at its top speed.

Thankyou.

There is no gain adjustments on this receiver. I replaced the servo with an HS-5082mg and it cured the problem.

What was the cause of the problem, just a poor servo to start with ?

Re: Reconfigure EFlite Apprentice S15e receiver

The servo was over correcting and not finding center. They are low budget servos.

Re: Reconfigure EFlite Apprentice S15e receiver

was just searching on google if it was possible to completely turn off the AS3x on my apprentice. I found strengthening the tail with some balsa really reduced the tail flutter.

Re: Reconfigure EFlite Apprentice S15e receiver

I've never seen it happen to any of the students I 've been teaching with AS3X Apprentices. Are you flying in Safe mode when it flutters? If so, that may be the problem. Flying Fast in full Safe mode will probably do that. Slow it down.

When I instruct, most students start to fly in the middle Safe mode. All progress to Safe "off" by the time they are ready to do thier wings test. Never seen it happen to them.

I was in expert mode. The stabilization feature of the receiver is always on no matter what mode beginner, middle or expert mode you are on. Full open throttle with level flight and the clutter will happen. I am thinking that the elevator servo is in fact not centering / over correcting as stated in an earlier comment thus causing the flutter. The problem is not likely in the receiver at all.

Same here. Tried it in both intermediate and expert modes I get a flutter at high throttle or when flying head on into the wind. Even with stiffening the fuse there is still some there. Im going to look into replacing the servo as well.

Re: Reconfigure EFlite Apprentice S15e receiver

PROBLEM:
When I wiggled the elevator back and forth and then let go of the stick, the servo continued to wiggle back and forth for a couple of seconds before stopping. So this
is a bad servo that was for sure not centering anymore.

SOLUTION:
I replaced the EFLR7155 servo that was faulty with a digital servo such as the
HITECH HS-425BB. The centering problem is completely gone now. The E-Flite
apprentice now goes full speed through the air like an arrow perfectly. See attached
images of before and after fix.
