Do you try to strip the ultra/money cote off your crashed birds to re-use the underlying balsa?

I haven't tried to do this (got two "specimens" ) but wonder if it's worth while?

Balsa from crashed airplanes is evil, unsafe, and bad luck.

If the plane is not repairable, there is usually nothing to salvage anyways..........

It also depends on the plane.

During our combat league, I always kept at least one small part of the original plane for the next rebuild

For other planes, if destroyed, I just rebuild with fresh wood.

I use to save everything. Even those piece of balsa that are left after you punch out the wing ribs from a kit. I had boxes and boxes of the stuff, never really used it but kept it anyway. One day i used it to build a real nice fire. When I crash a plane, I do it right. Not much left to salvage. LOL!
