Re: Beaver Fever in Southern Ontario

Here's some links too some interesting web pages:

Almost every Beaver made is documented here:

Also a FB group:

https://www.facebook.com/groups/107737622126/

For some personal nostalgia, I spent an afternoon years ago at YVR south filming float planes including a bunch of Beavers:

https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=Jjt1YADM7Zs

The Beavers start at around 4 min. Notice how fast the DHC aircraft are off the water compared to the others. Have fun!

Re: Beaver Fever in Southern Ontario

Took me pretty much all evening, but finally got the I-beams installed in all the float formers. Tons of issues with the drawings and a few issues with fitment of the kit parts, but they've all been worked out.

The second float should go much quicker, LOL!!

Per the last picture (my finger), the step in the bottom of the floats is pretty substantial. Should look pretty cool once up on plane for a take-off!!!

Tonight, I'll work at boxing in the retracts.

Re: Beaver Fever in Southern Ontario

Guys... Need some help with the Beaver floats... I'm in the process of building the wells for the retracts / wheels and wondering what I should use to seal the well and make them waterproof???

Wondering if there's something like a spray on rubber. Perhaps go kinky and use a brush on latex?

I'd rather not use epoxy - all it takes is a crack in a joint, etc and it'll leak.

Help!

Re: Beaver Fever in Southern Ontario

Trev,
not sure of the name of the product but you can buy a tin of liquid rubber that you can dip handles of pliers in to insulate them from electricity. May work in the wheel wells.
Lowes or HD should have this.
