Re: 8ft Telemaster Night Flyer

OK well covering is most of the way done... I think it is looking really good. I decided on a solid white on the top of the plane and the transparent white on the bottom. I chose to do this because then during the day on the ground it will look like a normal white telemsater and at night the top white will reflect lots of light down to the bottom illuminating the ground as well as making the plane easier to see when its flying.

Here are some pictures... the remaining area up front is going to be covered in the same blue as the vertical stab.

It is a good glow on the top but the bottom of the plane is just lit up like crazy!!!

Let me know what you think!!!!!!

Re: 8ft Telemaster Night Flyer

Ok covering is 95% done, just surfaces and one small area. Though i would show some more pics not that the main covering is done, wheels back on and the hatches and bomb drop door are all finished as well.

It looks so bright I think you're gonna need to wear your shades when flying at night!
Really nice job!

Re: 8ft Telemaster Night Flyer

Hi Kevin,

Your Telemaster is looking Great !

For some transparent trim, try a sign shop.

They use transparent peel and stick vinyl for backlit signs...

Take a picture of your project and they might have some offcuts for very little, if any, cost. They throw out allot of scrap.

Take care,
Have fun,

Re: 8ft Telemaster Night Flyer

Well The tail surfaces are hinged. Lighting seems to even light them up to which i am quite happy with. I ran the engine today and it went very well. Idles Revs and Top End is uper smooth. Everything is coming along nicly. The tails linkages are going to be done shortly and then its cover and finish the flaps and ailerons.

Then Maiden...... Im def going to try it out first in the day time and make sure everything is ok before i brave the night

Here are a few more pics.

Re: 8ft Telemaster Night Flyer

Well building is nearing completion... Exams this week is defiantly slowing progress but little bits here and there are helping. I have a couple questions for RCCers, As i am a 3der at heart I doubled the control surface size of the elevator and rudder, does anyone have any idea on initial rates for the maiden flight. I can handle 3d rates fine so I'm thinking same rates approx with some expo should work fine. Any thoughts? Second, any suggestions for my first night flight, things to do/ bring etc.?

Thanks and ill post pics soon hopefully of the plane flying!!!

Cheers
