Trev, do you like the Python or Yak better?

Re: 100cc QuiQue Python Build Thread - COMPLETED

I've got about a dozen flights on mine now. The Python is an amazing plane. So far about the only thing that's a little more difficult is to walk it around in a hover low to the ground. All biplanes are like this due to the wings not being in the prop blast.
I have a new DA100 (latest version) waiting for the Extreme Flight 110" Yak. Hopefully, mine will get shipped in the next week or two. I'll let you know how that goes. But I really like my EF 88" Yak. By far, it's the best 50cc plane I've flown.

Hey Shaun! It depends...

The Yak is amazing stable in the wind (actually prefers a good wind for landing) and does the IMAC Sequences the best... it is very, very smooth and graceful!

The Python is an amazing 3D'r, extreme roll rate, and lands in much tighter runways. It also feels "on rails" in the sky, since it doesn't matter what orientation your in... it flies straight and level all times. It is however a lot trickier to fly for IMAC, since any sort of a cross wind really hits the big rudder and cabanes.

With my type of flying (mild 3D and just beating around), I love the Python!!!

Cheers

Hey Steve... I'm not at this level yet where I can walk the planes around just off the ground !! I have seen your EF 88" Yak fly and it's phenomenal !! I'm seriously contemplating getting another 50cc size and this would be the one for me!

Cheers

The little of your 50cc Yak I can see in your pic of the Python baffling on pg 3 makes it look almost as big as the Python! Any chance of a comparison pic?

Thanks,

Shaun

If your setting it up in this Python, just follow the instructions (it's built for a DA100 on MTW 75 Cans) and the spinner backplate will stick out past the big, fat cowl perfectly!

I've got 3 gallons through my new DA100 in this plane... the airframe is holding up perfectly and I fall more in love with the flight characteristics after every flight.

Knife edge is phenomenal and there is no mixing required. It also flies hands-off inverted, so I'm not messing with the CG any!!

Cheers

Hello Trevor

I'm actually converting QQ-102 Gen III to electric. It will be powered by Plettenberg 37/6
motor. I have tested 28x12 mejzlik at 7000 rpm. It will weigh 29.3 lbs.

Thanks Dave
