You've made a great choice by going with the Scorpion. I started with the WK and did the HPI Phase 1 Conversion and it was fine for simple crawling but then out came the Scorpion and bought that too and the Scorpion my fav between the two.

My setup is:
- Stock Scorpion
- Novak Rooster Crawler Edition
- Intergy 55T Motor
- Modified Axial Front Battery/Servo Plate
- HiTec HS-645MG Steering Servo
- Custom made 6 cell pack, 3 + 3 over the front axle with servo still centered
- Axial soft springs (Red)

More mods and upgrade in the near future.

Well I'm in Halifax so getting to the meets will be tough. I picked up an HS-645MG Friday. Should I build this thing as is or is there things people recommend doing right away?

the shock tip that lime stated is a good one, as well doing the mod to allow the lower links to mount inside the chassis, u probably saw that on rccrawler.com. a little 3mm washer on the bolt that holds the ball end into the three link connector at the axle. that little ball end has been known to pull out, so a 3 mm washer on the screw that goes on there will save you any headache there. keep everything low, try and mount you batts on the front axle, everyone does it for a reason. thats all i can think of right now....

we generally go north, we like natural rock and lots of it. about a hour north of newmarket we get to Honey Harbour area, lots of rock and amazing areas to drive, well worth the car ride. we may even venture farther this year, in search of some real competition locations.

and as for when, that will be decided when things really start drying up and maybe a bit warmer. soon though i hope!!!!
