Re: Defect esc

I think you should test the battery first. What is the voltage on each cell?

Re: Defect esc

Not sure what " it runs like the battery is empty" means but will take a shot at it. As Ed says check the battery to make sure all cells are fully charged to above 4.15 volts per cell. Check all connections at the motor leads and at the battery lead to make sure you have a good connection. If that all checks out , then try another ESC to make sure the motor is ok . If still the same problem it could be that the ESC is toast.

When replacing the ESC , I would highly recommend going to one made by Castle Creations
. Won't go into advantages at this time as they are one of the best for the money with support and service in NA.

Re: Defect esc

I tried 3 different batteries fully charged and it was the same . I swapped the esc with a brand new one and its ok. I guess the old esc is toast.

You might have the ESC in program mode. Its very easy to do when you plug the battery in with a little throttle on the stick. Cheers Floyd

Re: Defect esc

I have had 2 brand new esc's fail right out of the box. A yep and atlas (Hyperion). At application of power, a slight smell of failed electrical component. I also use Castle Creations producs, The Best. As a note if you are using an opto esc do not disconnect the red wire, power provided by separate bec.
