The new MVVS 58 is said to have more power than the competitors 80cc engines as iam looking for a 80cc these caught my eye, 4lbs with muffler, and they say 9.5 bhp which is one hp larger than the zdz 80 rv,

Let me know what your thoughts are before i make a wrong move,,

zdz vs mvvs

Don't rely on the posted hp to make your decision.

Although I have never owned the MVVS, I have owned several ZDZ 80'S and I have a very hard time beliveing that the 58cc MVVS has more power.

The ZDZ is commonly run on 26" and even 27" props. The #'s that I have seen posted for the MVVS are all on 24" props and are in the ball park of what my ZDZ 60 turned.

My ZDZ 80's turned Menz 26x10S at between 6200-6700rpm depending on exhaust used. If the MVVS 58 will do that then it is just as powerful

mvvs

They have boasted that hp # since day one. I just haven't seen the prop-rpm #'s to support it. Like I said the #'s that I have seen show it to be comparable to the ZDZ 60. and this makes sense as they are both 60cc engines.

Not sure what u mean by "carbon fibre reeds as opposed to porting"? Do you mean reed inductiion as opposed to piston port induction? If so, the ZDZ doesn't use a piston port either, induction is through a rotary valve.

ZDZ 80 vs MVVS 58

Hi Eric ; just read your post and here's my 2 cents, had a DA50r worked
great on my 28% W/H 540 EDGE (17lbs) but needed that extra zap so I
checked MVVS 58 and as per video & other info the MVVS 58 will fly a 35% EDGE (25+or-lbs) with Mejzlik 26x10N prop 6000rpm so that sold
me on the engine

I have to agree with Mike on this..I own a ZDZ 60 and I have yet to see #'s that are better than the ZDZ 60 when they run them with similar exhaust setups....When they put the MVVS pipe and header on the 58 it has good numbers. If you can run the full MVVS setup you will have a great performing motor.

I just bought a MVVS 45 and they boast great numbers for it also...but only with their full tuned pipe setup.

If you need an 80 than buy the 80.If your plane is 22#+ and you want good pull out of a hover and vertical snaps, you will like the extra the 80 has.6400-6700 on 26-10 menz and zinger on home made exhaust that is hard to beat.
