Hi Jason and Al
If you take a look at step no 6 of the Axis 34 assembly manual, you'll notice that the bottom part of the fuse is held at an angle. Make sure that the vertical part of the fuse fits properly, move it at an angle, put a light bead of glue along the joint. Only glue 4 to 6 inches at a time, bring the fuse back to 90 deg and wait a few seconds for it to set every time you add glue. I must have put over a hundred together, I found this method to be the easiest and most accurate.
In regards to the hinges, Foam Tac is ok but I'm going back to Blenderm. I used 1/2in. Blenderm on the last couple planes and it works great. A small piece of Blenderm on the underside of the hinge near the fuse also helps. You can buy 24 rolls for $27.99 at Well.ca.

How do you guys get a straight aircraft using hot glue?

Al
Trial fit your fuselage first, I found the tungs needed a bit of triming.
Once your happy with the fit, leave it in place and run a bead of ca down the corner.
I used the tac glue, you have to pull it apart after trial fit to add the tac glue, and u have some time to sort it out.

Re: Blue Foamie

Got my Axis finished and can't wait to fly it. Weight with out Batt. came out to 115 grams.
In the pic's you can see I came up with a new idea for push rod supports
It also adds some strength.
And to save some weight as you can see in the pic's the air brakes are 3.5 grams lighter, using the plastic film from vegetable bags, that stuff is thin.

That's very light, around 4 0z. you should be able to compete in F3P, too bad you can't come to our event, on the other hand, you would beat the crap out of us...lol
I like your air brakes and your rod supports.
Good job.

Re: Blue Foamie

I wish I could hop on one of my planes and fly up there for the weekend, but RC models just can't hold my weight .

Hope you all have a fun time ... take video! I'll live vicariously. LOL

Cheers,
J
