Get involved with your community. Be fair. be honest, be sensible.
getting involved with the community would be a good thing indead but in ed smith`s defence i would like to stress the importance of first off having the LOCAL community in support of your intentions

if a person was involved with the locals in the above mentioned site, then he would know that it wasnt just one that ruined it for all

it was lack or ignorance of the local communities concerns

local meaning ;;those directly involved /neighbours etc with-in ear shot

In North Bay we were fortunate to have two flying fields. As Jan notified in his starting thread, our Wasi location on Hwy 654 is now closed. Our other flying field is located near Osprey Links Golf Course, north side of the course, at the end of Cranberry Road. The site is between North Bay and Calendar. Check out our homepage. If the link doesn’t work, simply type NIPMAC into your search engine.

I'd rather not go into the details of our Wasi Field loss, other than to say that the field is no longer available to NIPMAC - it had nothing to do with disgruntled neighbours, noise, liability, inter-club strife or land use issues; simply, the field is no longer available.

However, I will say that NIPMAC owes the owners of our former flying field a big THANK YOU for their generosity and consideration in allowing us to use the field for more than twenty years. They are true friends and staunch supporters of the modelling community.
