Yeah I'm not sure either but I think maybe your new edge has the very latest ideas and this was probably a recommendation. Anyway I'm doing the lamination for the main stringers as others have done for the PRO.

Good call on the mod!!

I thought the PRO was designed after the 126" Edge?

I was just concerned that perhaps it was deemed that the PRO was a better
design than the Edge's canopy... I'll look into the reasoning

Re: Carden PRO Built by Lee

Got the lightened stringers all glued up and the ailerons cut out. Hopefully have the canopy frames all done tomorrow. The shop got so smoky trimming the basswood I had to air it out all afternoon...tough stuff!!
I have to say using the foam cutting pencil instead of a bandsaw to cut out surfaces is way cleaner and leaves a nice smooth foam surface to glue to.

Oh I also bought an oscillating saw at CTR, on sale and cuts balsa like butter...Durant install should be a piece of cake

and that is when it makes all that sanding, sanding and more sanding really worthwhile.

Re: Carden PRO Built by Lee

At least two weeks from covering, although I have the scheme worked out and the covering here. Trev any tricks on trimming the canopy? It's so damned cold in my plastic lair, I have to keep bringing stuff up and down stairs to the basement workshop (which is my sculpting area and has no space) which is a PITA

Re: Carden PRO Built by Lee

I don't know if its a standard way but I put masking tape on the edge while in place to mark the edge, and then cut it with scissors. Then a wee bit of sanding to fine tune.
Can't wait to get to that stage myself. Slow but steady progress here.

Jason

I also posted a picture of what I did with a 3 hole psp fuel fitting on flyingchase's edge build if interested.

That sucks how you have to head for the warmth It was cold here today (-9), so I can only imagine in Sudbury

Tricks for trimming... uuuum... a good set of scissors, Jason's tape trick or a water-soluable finetipped marker and a lot of patience, LOL

Cheers
