Re: Source of storage tubes?
I just found these. They would be perfect. Looks like they are sold in bundles of 25.
I may have to get some. http://www.uline.ca/BL_3651/Clear-Plastic-Tubes

Re: Source of storage tubes?
Any art supply store has cardboard tubes, closed at one end and with slip-on caps for the other, in various lengths and diameters, for rolling and storing paper. Good for plans as well as rods etc.

Re: Source of storage tubes?
For years I've used what are fairly rugged black plastic tubes - probably initially golf clubs tubes a la Canadian Tire - to hold heavy long items such as music wire but for everything else that is long and narrow - pushrod material, strip balsa/spruce, even brass tubing - various diameters of cardboard tubes that came with Xmas wrap, construction materials - have worked out fine.
It's a simple matter to plug one end with cardboard and strapping tape. If the items are all full length - eg. 36" or 48" - I'll just cut back the tube so a few inches of wire or stock is exposed and can be easily selected. Otherwise, if I'm fishing for a small length of music wire, I'll have to dump the contents of the tube anyway, whether it's transparent or not. good luck, Michael |

Re: Source of storage tubes?
I use covering empty cardboard rolls. Put a piece of tape at one end and voila.
Cost=0 Cheers JP
