rain protection

I mentioned this previously before the track was first open... thought I'd mention it again since the race-day was a washout...
because a 10th scale track is not on a very large piece of land, you guys might want to look into a large tarp to cover the track when its raining - it will allow the track to be used almost immediately after any rainfall, and could prevent this kind of rescheduling.

I think the owner now realizes that our urgent request for a large tarp was more important than he thought - a tough lesson to learn, but in the future we will be ensuring that a tarp, or pond lining will be covering the track during rain days, to help avoid rescheduling.

We are on the same wavelength Gump!

As Mike mentioned, the tarp is being ordered to cover the entire track. This will allow it to be covered if there is rain in the forecast for the days leading up to a big race.

Gump thank you for presenting a possible solution.

Back when I was working in the construction field, I had to spend a lot of time laying out geosynthetic liners, and erosion control barriers.

If you are using this very large tarp for rain control, can I suggest that you have a sandbag pile on a skid prepared for when you lay out the tarp?

I've seen several very large tarps turn in to either very large tents, or very large kites.

If you sandbag the edge of the tarp for the duration of a storm, you can easily re-roll it and skim the water off of the top.

It would suck to outlay the cash for the large tarp and then have it get ripped up during a storm.
