Thanks man,

I do appreciate that but I think my 3800 mAH should be ok. I just have never tested my batteries to see how long they will last at a race pace....

my other set of batteries are 2 year old 3300s and they will easily do 7 min with a 12 turn motor in a 4wd. noone should be complaning unless you got 1500 ni cads.

batteries

I've registered.

I think I can fit one extra crash in to the gate now that we are doing 7 minutes!

There are a few good threads about battery maintenance on the Sid's Forum. I did myself a favour and looked up that information again.

My packs were running a little flat towards the end of 6 minutes, but it was more about the gearing and my own battery maintenance.

Anyone care to share gearing tips for the Stock / Spec class?

So far the best information that I have come across was related to the RC10B4 and I'm not sure how much it will apply to any of the other brands of car but there were two pieces of information that stood out for me. One was related to brushed spec motors and how they feel like they have more drag, so you may want to set your controller / transmitter up in such a way as to prevent "cogging" when you ease off the trigger (move the neutral point forward?). And the other is in relation to handling; move your rear hub forward to get a bit more traction in the corners as your motor may be a little less torque-y?

^not sure how effective those tips are, but it's worth sharing.

This Sunday's race is really starting to heat up and it's only Friday night.

2wd Buggy Spec class will have some close racing.

4wd Buggy Open class is going to be fast and exciting. Look at the list of names and try and figure out who will manage to keep it together.

Truck Open class has some great names entered. Can Mr. Lovegrove defend his title?

Or will the winner be a racer that has not even registered yet?

Register for the Sid's Trophy race of the 2007 out door season.

Also, there will be a MAJOR announcement made to those who attend. I'm sure you'll hear about it....

Hi Scott,

The CO27 likes to be geared like a 19T... 21T pinion with the stock spur is a good starting point. Refer to:

Don't be afraid to even use a larger pinion than that. As long as your not over heating, those stock motors continue to make power....
