Re: Yellow Aircraft Spitfire
Last of the vinyl fuse lettering went on this AM, and the wing is now mounted to the fuselage, and all marked out for the camo. Hopefully I can get that sprayed tonight, and get the rest of the water markings on tomorrow night, and a coat of clear by Weds AM. Thurs will be fuel system, retract install, and checking all the gear, Friday engine ground run, and hopefully (fingers crossed) maiden flight Saturday/Sunday.

Re: Yellow Aircraft Spitfire
Top of the wing is done, complete with graphics, and first coat of gray on the bottom. Fuse is done, and all lettering on, final touch-ups, then it's ready for a couple of coats of clear.

Re: Yellow Aircraft Spitfire
It's down to crunch time, getting the last of the graphics on, final coat of paint on the underside of the wing, lots of clean up, touch up, etc. Should have the markings all done later tonight on the underside of the wing, and a coat of clear tomorrow. Right side of the fuse, water transfers are drying, then it's ready for a coat of clear. Tom will arrive tomorrow evening, and then we've got all day Friday to finish install of fuel system, receiver, batteries, and landing gear, then do CG check, engine run up, controls check, and be ready to fly Saturday. Fingers crossed!

Re: Yellow Aircraft Spitfire
An engine glitch means we can't do the maiden this weekend, sucks. But, she's done, and all setup for her owner, so hoping to see some video soon of her airborne. Now I need to get my Spitfire done!

Re: Yellow Aircraft Spitfire
Did this thing ever get into the air? Just picked one up and I'm interested to see how this one turned out.

Re: Yellow Aircraft Spitfire
This one ended up in my hangar. According to Dave's friend Tom (who I got it from), it's been taxied but not flown. I need to scrounge up a spinner, and one of the 20mm cannons needs to be installed. Otherwise it's pretty much ready to go. Biggest challenge is going to be getting it to & from the field safely. That wing runs darned near the entire length of my Terrain's interior, and partly blocks my view out the passenger's window.
