I have decided that the Voglesang gear drive with the crappy Canadian dollar is just to rich for my blood right now, almost $2k with all the goodies. Sooooooo I picked up a 3W75 rear carb from a good friend of mine. The 3W75 should be lots of power swinging a 26x6 prop. I will custom build an exhaust to run out of the scale exhaust pipe..... I guess there is no excuse now......time to get her done!

Re: B-USA 1/3 Fokker DVII

Ok! Snow on the ground means the start of the serious building season! So, to start it off I covered the top outer halves of the DVII wing! I used red Solartex. The scallops took a little getting used to. The aileron linkages are all set up using Robart control horns with a 4-40 clevis and 4-40 rod.

Re: B-USA 1/3 Fokker DVII

Thanks Bill. Just waiting on some more red Solartex from AMR. I also order the top 5 colour Lozengtex from B-USA. I have pulled out my fuselage side plans and planned all the pull - pull cable routes. Then onto the gear and engine installation......stay tuned!

Scott, what is this "snow" you speak of? Think we hit 21 degrees in Halifax today. . . .

A B/USA D-V11 is next on my build table. I have a Q100 that will be going in it.

Re: B-USA 1/3 Fokker DVII

I wish it was that warm here, Saturday was nice almost 11 degrees......Then snow that night, Alberta gotta love it! Not at all like balmy Halifax! I started back on the fuse. I got the elevator pull/pull all set up. I used a Hitec servo arm glued and pinned on a carbon fiber rod. I also used Robart 3/4" control horns.

Re: B-USA 1/3 Fokker DVII

This weekend I managed to get the stab and elevator group covered and rib stitched. I tried a new method of rib stitching this time. I used wood glue with a small applicator tip. I really like this method! You just draw a small line with the glue and let it dry. You then apply your top strip of Solartex.
