Two 1300mAh Batteries to one reciever

I am using two 1300mAh 6.6v Life batteries to one Futaba 8ch receiver. I have them hooked up to two switches. I am using a 20cc DLE with an IBEC for cutoff. My question with this setup will it be equal to 2600mAh and will it draw from both batteries? I used the same setup as in the Youtube vid below.

Thanks in advance

Run in parallel yes you will get 2600mah and yes it will pull off both, equally? Now that is another question, But should be close enough.

Re: Two 1300mAh Batteries to one reciever

Parallel works and they don't even have to be the same capacity, just the same number of cells. As long as they both have the same starting voltage, they should both discharge at the same rate by voltage.

For example, on some of my planes I use a second flight pack in parallel to a) fly longer and b) take the load off the first pack. In my case I am talking about flight packs but the theory is the same.
IE: If a plane flies with a 3300mah pack

If I add a 2200 mah pack in parallel, then I am effectively flying with a 5500 pack. The nice part is with parallel packs, you can adjust either or both packs to correct for CG.
At start voltage, both packs are reading 4.2V/cell. After a flight, both packs read 3.8V/cell. When I recharge, the 3000 would take back 1700 and the 2200 would take back 1100.

Just a small caution, two batteries in parallel left connected tend to discharge each other.

Re: Two 1300mAh Batteries to one reciever

Maybe you have a slight draw Cliff, I leave my smoke pump batteries connected(switch in place) all the time and only need to charge them every 10-15 flights, so ever three to four weeks and even at that they only take a minimal charge.

I could put a micro switch on one of the batteries going to the receiver. I will monitor the draw and ad switch if I have to. I will for sure disconnect the batteries for storage as per usual.

Thanks

Re: Two 1300mAh Batteries to one reciever

I just thought of something! I have a switch for each battery and when the switch is in the off position there is no power going to the receiver. So they can't draw from each other.

Or use a DPDT switch and have them both switched off (and disconnected from each other) with one flip of the switch
