hey i just mounted my first flywheel and i dont know if theres supposed to be a gap between the flywheel and the engine bearing. the collet is right up against the bearing face but the flywheel has a gap. the flywheel is tight to the crankshaft and doesnt slip and seems to be on properly. i just don't know about the gap. heres a pic. let me know what u guys think. thanks in advance.

There should be a small gap, make sure the bell and the spur mesh in the middle of the 2 gears. If not it may be the wrong collet.

as long as you can get the clutch bell on and mounted properly. if the collet is too long you won't have enough shaft to get the screw cinched up wthout binding the clutch bearing. I have filed them down before. I just toss a big ol' flat file down and move the collet back and forth, twisting it a little every few passes to keep it even..... if it needs to be shorter that is
