Ducted Fan Suggestions?

I have had an EDF fan unit Tamjet TJ1515 2Y for sale on RCC for a while and it has not sold...more info here...https://www.rccanada.ca/rccforum/showthread.php?t=202478

I was thinking I may just look for a simple EDF Jet to put it in since I have the batteries and speed control for this unit...

With all the EDF expertise on this forum I would like airframe suggestions that would be suitable for this fan unit ...I am open to foam suggestions too...

I am for the most part I am a Giant Scale Aerobatic guy...Just so you know what my flying skills are I have had the e-flite BAE Hawk no problem with speed the hawk was clocked at 178 kmh on a low pass!!!....and I tried to put this fan unit in a TAM Jet F-16 (1/12) 90MM but I had much trouble getting this combo to work....due to collapsing intake plenum....got three flights did not like it ...gave up and sold the airframe!!!...

Thanks in advance for any suggestions...I know you guys won't mind spending my hobby budget!!

Re: Ducted Fan Suggestions?

I was going to make you an offer on this one Rob - until BlackBerry cut me loose and I have to be more careful with my budget. I have a similar unit that is going into the CMP (hobby king) 90mm BAE Hawk. Having flown the E-Flite BAE Hawk, you will be familiar with it's flight characteristics.

Re: Ducted Fan Suggestions?

Why not put it into the RCLander T33? The T33 was originally sized for 90-120mm EDF. I'm running a 90mm with a thrust tube but 100mm would probably work fine without the extra tube. 9S would also be plenty of power.
Just so happens ParkRCmodels has them on sale for $199 at the moment. Expect to pay $120 shipping...

Re: Ducted Fan Suggestions?

Hey Eric

I took a look at the t33 and it looks interesting ...high end foam...this is exactly what i was looking for ....something that has been proven and been in the hands of a RCC modeller.

I would bet that this would not be too hard to fly being that jets of this vintage had a propeller type wing design ...thick and lots of lift

Thanks

Rob
