Unhappy Mark it "Sold"

Remove this ad - become a site supporter!
Is it just me or are most people on this site missing the following:
"Forum etiquette: Once your item is sold, please take the time to mark your subject 'SOLD'."

Notice it says-mark your SUBJECT sold. In other words, edit your post to show the word "sold" in your subject line.

Maybe its just me but lately i have been slightly peeved to read a post only to find out a page or two later that the item has been sold. That has got to put a bee in ones hat especially if one is using a dial-up connection.

Just letting off some steam...

If this is posted in the wrong section...please advise.

The lead in header can't be changed.
The title on your first post can be changed.

Re: Mark it "Sold"

This has been a pet peeve with me for some time now on this site. I have also, in the past, made a few postings on site edicate asking that items be marked SOLD in the header line when they have been indeed SOLD>

But that being said, since the change over to the new format, when ever I have sold something, I try editing the header on the post and find now, that It, for some reason cannot be edited and stays the same as the origional posting.

Perhaps this is another glitch in the new programming?? Maybe something Jason can look into for us! Thanks!

Yes it can. At the top of the thread there is a link called 'thread tools'. Within this dropdown there is an option to edit the thread title.
This option will let you change the thread title.

If you click on edit post and change the title, you are only changing the post title.

Re: Mark it "Sold"

I just looked at one of my threads and I still can't see anything that allows me to edit the title.

There was a drop down menu under thread tools but it didn't have anything that allows me to edit the thread title.

It allowed me to print, e-mail, subscribe, or add.

Re: Mark it "Sold"

Looks like I spoke too soon on that one...that option should come up, but it's not. Gonna dig into it some more.

Re: Mark it "Sold"

Jason,
I will follow your progress...
I appreciate your looking into this as I am sure many members have tried to post according to forum etiquette but failed in the process.

Re: Mark it "Sold"

Jason,

I see you have already removed the "forum etiquette" line.
Good thinking

Re: Mark it "Sold" Also post in correct forum.

I think people should take the time to post their threads in the correct forum, this thread included. There is an Off Topic forum here for a reason. It is agravating to repeatedly see threads that have nothing to do with General RC Aircraft Discussion being posted here. Surf back through several pages and you will find at least half a dozen threads that belong in the Off Topic forum. I'm not saying that these topics don't have merit, but there is an appropriate forum for them.
