Personal transponders should NOT be mandatory! Are you kidding me? Making a racer purchase a personal transponder is ridiculous in my opinion.

How does it make for a "much better race if they are used"? My local track doesn't force people to purchase personal transponders. And In my opinion the racing in the area is best at my local track. I don't see how forcing a racer to purchase a personal, makes the racing "much better". You're silly!

Please explain that one would ya? I have to read how you think personal transponders make for a "much better race if they are used"!

Actually in my experience, the local track that I race at has the AMBrc system that can accept personal transponders. And once in a while someones personal transponder won't work and misses laps. (People not installing them correctly, or placing them in the wrong spot causing weak signals) Where as the public transponders allways work and never miss counting laps. And you know what happens when laps are missed and not counted.... the racer complains to the race director, and then the missed laps have to be corrected. All because the personal transponder was never installed properly, or isn't working right.

Sorry to get long winded, I just hate when tracks force the racer to purchase personal transponders. Especially now, when the price of them is so high!

PS. Just incase you were wondering, I use a personal transponder. But I do it by choice, NOT because some track forced me to purchase one.

I'm just saying that a transponder system in general makes a better race..
That's all

No need to calm down SPZA, because I am not excited. Just mearly stating an opinion. Sorry that it reads like I am excited, but I am not. I am just against tracks forcing people to purchase things. I don't like it. Some people can barely afford to by spare parts let alone a PT. Fortunately, for me, I am not one of those people that are just scraping by in the RC racing scene. I just feel bad for the people who miss out on a great hobby and racing experience, because they don't have the funds to purchase PT's for tracks that force you to do so.

Spond,
Your statement didn't come across that way.... You made it sound like PT's made the racing better. HAHAHA!!!

Now how about this series! I am pumped! I cannot wait to put a whoopin on all of you! HAHAHAHA! Especially that Joe P. dude!

Let me remind peole that I'm not going to let this get out of hand.
I've started this thread as a discussion only thread.

Transponder systems are Manditory in all series races.
At this point the series organiser encourage systems to be
compatible with PT's, however at this point it is not manditory.

Most serious racers use them. They do save a great deal of time
for both user and race co ordinator because it doesn't require time to take
out and turn in between races.

SPZA if you can afford one..buy one. Then you can spend more time
wrenching.

LOL! It takes all of 10 seconds to get a "public" transponder out of your vehicle. It is simply removed by taking off 1 body clip. Then walking to the charging tray which in most cases is located right next to the track.

I don't know about "saving a great deal of time" but yeah it does save about 10 seconds, 20 seconds if your slow. haha!

Sounds like your a sales person for Personal Transponders. haha!

again. I've sat at races to wait..and wait and wait.

Be prepared to have a PT at king. I can not speak for MAC but I believe
there will be no rentals avail this year.

I'm adding information to the info thread.

Warlock, as you mentioned in the series details...

"6. ROAR does not apply in this series. We are going to slowly develop our own Canadian standard taking what we like from current systems. So ROAR membership are of course not required."

This may pose an issue as I know at Sammy's last year we had to buy a ROAR membership if we did not already have one, as it was required by them for insurance reasons. I only went there for one race, so this may be the case for the races they have there this year, so saying a ROAR membership is not required, may not be the case.

Out of the 18 races I went to last year, Sammy's was the only one you had to have ROAR membership at.

Just wanted to make a note on this, as I guess there will need to be clarification on it.

Lates,
