Changesun 90mm 12 blade EDF with Changesun 1600kv Outrunner

The Changesun 1600kv Outrunner ordered from X-Flight arrived so it was time to test it with a Changesun 90mm 12 blade EDF.
I added a intake lip to the shroud for bench tests to show figures closer to installed.

Using Gens Ace 5500mah 25C 6S batteries

2000watts 90amps peak
1750watts 82amps settled

These numbers are very similar to the last 1600kv motor with gold ends but the Changesun version has aluminum coloured ends with a bullet shaped end with cooling holes. The new motor also came properly assembled with motor set screws secured with locktite and the bearings were secure in the motor housing.
I also noticed some small amount of balancing weight added in between the magnets and the motor ran reasonably smooth for an Outrunner.

The motor temperatures were cool, never going over 110F which shows the motor is not straining at all on 6S.

Great motor for the CS9012 for only $35 plus $7 shipping!

Here is the "combo" motor and CS fan for $60

Re: Changesun 90mm 12 blade EDF with Changesun 1600kv Outrunner

Recently received 2 of the complete fan/motor combos (already assembled) from X-Flight.
Same combo as I built from my own fan and CS motor.
Just a heads up, they do not come dynamically balanced. They do not have locktite on any screws but they have been tightened. The set screws holding the adapter on were tightened so much the Allen key hole was stretched making removal difficult. The other issue is that no flat spot was put into the motor shaft so the potential for the adapter slipping/twisting is high.
Even with these issues, the price and performance is decent but they must be taken apart and assembled properly for smooth reliable operation.
