Binding
I have an apprentice trainer with a Dx 6i I am using a 600x receiver. When trying to bind the plane I have a solid red light and an orange light on the receiver but nothing binds. Is there a way to reset all the setting and start over? The red light will not flash when I start up the controller. I have done everything step by step and yet no results. Very frustrating, ant help would be appreciated.:

Re: Binding
It sounds like you have you battery polarity reversed. When you have the bind plug in and put power to it the red light usually flashes quick and then just the orange flashes rapidly.

Re: Binding
Insert the bind plug in the battery port or the bind port on the rx, should be marked, then put power to the rx ( plug the battery into any empty port on the rx) and the lights should flash quickly, on the 6xi I believe you have to hold the trainer switch then turn on the tx while still holding the switch, once the rx lights stop flashing and turn solid the system will be bound. Turn off the rx and tx, remove bind plug then turn on tx then rx and system should work. Always when flying turn tx on first then rx, when turning off it is rx first then tx.

Re: Binding
Don't know about the solid red light, but remember that environment can have an effect on binding. Avoid smaller enclosed areas with high electrical content or flourescent lighting.

But if you do feel that your garage lights might be causing a problem, then just take the plane outside and try again. PS- you are getting the "fast" flashing when you plug in your battery (with bind plug installed) in your receiver before you try binding the Transmitter, right?

Re: Binding
Greenhorn, how new are you to this hobby?
I would strongly recommend you do some looking around your area for a MAAC sanctioned club. As mentioned many times before it pays off in safety and general hobby satisfaction having someone with experience look over your craft, answer any questions you may have and teach you what you need to know each step of the way.
