Re: Canadian IMAC Nats 2012!!!

Just got an update on my DA-100 that I sent back to DA.

If you weren't there, during the IMAC NATS at Arnprior, I blew a jug off the motor during Sunday's unknown round. Managed to land with only some minor damage to the cowling. Never did find the piston.

One amazing thing is the motor kept running on only one cylinder. I had to cut the ignition on short final to get the propeller (and the awful noise of the connecting rod flailing around) to stop.

Anyways, DA has rebuilt it and will be covering my 4 year old, second hand DA-100 on warranty. Only had to pay shipping costs to get the engine to them.

Thanks DA!

Here's a couple photo's by Larry of the incident and the aftermath.

Re: Canadian IMAC Nats 2012!!!

Yup, typical of DA. Had the same experience with them twice this summer.

First DA-100 threw a C clip and had to have two new pistons, rings, connecting rods and crankshaft - was way out of warranty and they rebuilt it no charge and all I paid were shipping costs.

Second DA-100 was the one that went in hard when the tail snapped on my Extra 260. They checked it all out and replaced all the bearings and two new spark plugs. Cost me about $25 for repairs plus shipping costs.

DA is a first class operation

Of course it will! What could possibly happen to prevent that?

Re: Canadian IMAC Nats 2012!!!

Have the results been submitted to IMAC for the NATS yet?

I don't see any results on the North Centra results page.

Re: Canadian IMAC Nats 2012!!!

I know that Dave did submit them (saw the email go through, that's when I posted them up on Scale Aerobatics Canada). They will probably come around to posting them soon.
