I got one of those with a plane I bought. The back has a gold sticker indicating it meets 1991 compliance though I don't believe that was a big deal for Futaba radios.

I did a number of range tests and got no glitches and solid control, though admittedly I haven't flown it yet.

It has dual rates for ailerons and elevator and a trainer plug as well so it's really not a bad 6 channel radio.

Hope this helps some

Bob

This is one of the old Futaba standards and as long as the tx hasnt been dropped or the rx crashed there is no inherent reason it should not give good service.
If it was 1991 or later manufacture it would be gold stickered and legal both sides of the border.
Shop carefully before you lay your $ down.New radios are getting better and better and the prices are still coming down for new models.
A basic computer radio is a joy to use.......

Jim, if you can't say anything constructive, DON'T SAY ANYTHING!!

Go stand in a corner for a while.

Canadian K9, Futaba radios have been around for over 30 years, and enjoy a good reputation. Make sure you get a good range check, and you'll be OK.

Range check

Anyone have any stats on range checks? How far should you go and get no jitters from your radio? Does the distance with the antenna collapsed work out a distance with it extended? My radio was in a crash, but it was becuase the Receiver battery pack quit. Seems to work fine now.

Canadiank-9:

I'm using a "Conquest" radio bought in 1992... Mine is "low band"and works flawlessly..

Range Check:::::::: Antenna collapsed and pointed towards yourself, you should still have "control" at 150 feet +/-...

It gets as much "air time" as my "Computer radios"

Hi Cecil

I go approx 100 feet for the check. At around 125-150 I get some servo jitter from most of my radios. Certainly we'll all do this different but is there an official ground distance that we are supposed to check?

Got me curious now

Bob
