well, i have sort of driven mine......we got them for the hobby show last year. It's front and back end are essentially the same as the "T" but the chassis is totally different. It's fun to drive, it dosnt have the punch of the nitro but is capable of some decent speed and can do back flips (see my BMC video).....if your used to nitro then the "E" wont satisfy you. I like it cause it gets away from the complexities of the nirto cars, you just drop the batteries in it and go.

There are almost as many hopups for the E-Maxx as there are for the T-Maxx. If you had the money, you could build an E-Maxx from aftermarket parts and not buy one Traxxas item...... this is the extreme end and only ment for people that have more money than sense.

wee, it's pretty quick and there are an ocean of hop ups for it. With the maxx starting to age a little and newer trucks coming on the market the aftermarket parts are cheaper as well

I wouldn't get to ahead for hop ups. There are a wealth of upgrades. Some are required to truly play hard without ending up wrenching..and others simply are a waste of money.

The stock e will get you into the MT market, and help you to acustomize yourself to driving/wrenching/setup. etc..

So I'd start by picking one up...and just playing with the stock monster.

You'll quickly learn where you need to put your money..

The E is a good choice because of parts accessibility too...you'll rarely have to wait for parts from your LHS.

there is also the Kyosho Twin Force, but it's pretty expensive, and it's a kit- no radio or electronics. i've had my E-Maxx for almost 2 years now and have yet to replace about 20% of the total parts in it; that is, it's pretty durable and has a great lifespan sofar. one thing i've learned is that if you're gunna get a monster truck, either be careful not to break it or have the money to fix it. monsters like the E are big, and that means bigger parts, so you'll have to spend more money than you would like if you break something like a bulkhead. my advice is to get it, enjoy it while keeping it in one piece, use your money to make it tough, and then have more fun
