how do you know if an engine has been run too lean?
my heli engine seems to be not working right. it runs great for about 5 maybe 7 minutes into the flight then at about 6 minutes it starts sputtering and then it just starts to decend then it sits there and sputters for alittle longer

Is your tank to low? Sounds like once you use some fuel you start to have some problems.

Jason are you running a header tank? Sounds like your running the rappy on the stock tank and as the fuel gets low it's either going rich or going lean. Next time when this happens touch the backplate of the engine. It should be cold. If your not running a header tank I suggest you get one. They prevent lean or rich spots until you start eating into the header itself. It also gives you a warning it's into the header so you know when your almost out of fuel because it goes really lean and you can hear it. Hope all this helps.

Jason,
I don't fly helicopters but I just hhad one my planes with problems. It would run fine on the ground but start to die in the air at about half a tank. I Blew pressure from a suringe back through it and still the same. After I got home and diassembly I found a pinhole in the muffler line.Maybe you could have a look. John
