Ben, congrats on the maiden. Don't know how I missed this one when it first came out. Would have followed along.

After a few Goldberg versions I was interested in the Airsail offering to build a replacement for the T/F Harvard hanging on the flying club wall. Only problem was the kit had been opened and some of the trim pieces, as well as the instructions, were missing. If memory serves obtained them through Airsail. Just took a bit.

My impression is of an advanced intermediate kit, relatively simple and light, yet with a bit more carving. Reminds me a lot of Pica. If any complaint it would be of the plastic. Very thin and brittle, but that may have been due to age.

Here is a pic of the plane now hanging at the flying club. Did it up to match a real one flown by some friends here.

Re: Chipmunk*Airsail DHC Chipmunk build

Well I now have 6 flights on the Chipmunk and its all trimmed out and fly's well but on the ground it is still a hand full, once you get it lined up and get it moving it will take off just fine (20 feet its off the ground) if you hold a bit of down elevator it will run down the runway for a scale take off. Flaps work well and slows the plane down very well but you really do not need them on take off or landing in fact my landings with out flaps are better. Now taxing back is another story, unless you are in the grass it is almost impossible to taxi back on a paved runway but on the bright side it is very entertaining for the other pilots and is already nick named the dancing chipmunk Ha Ha. It is a very predictable flying plane and dose loops, rolls, stall turns nicely and has no bad habits in the air even with the flaps down. So all in all I could not be happier with this plane.
Thanks Ben

Is your problem on pavement to do with tracking or maintaining direction control? If so, I found a bit of toe-in on the mains makes all the difference.
