Gaston I made up a template from aluminum flashing with the stall plate in place on the leading edge and the aileron removed. This way you do not have to lay it out on the foam.

Hi Dennis

I really like the aluminm idea, the only drawbck on making the stall plate part of the wing is that there wouldn't be any carbon fiber on the leading edge at that location.

Gaston I am thinking the blue foam is much more rigid than the Depron and I will try it without. If it’s necessary then just use a straight edge and slice it off. Saves making an additional template I guess. I have also used a carbon flat on the back of the wing where the ailerons go with much success.

Sounds good, let me know how it turns out. I might copy your idea of the aluminum, probably saves a lot of time and is more accurate.
Must come from your work experience in the automotive industry....

Did you also make a template for the fuselage, including removing the material for the servos, I guess you can cut that aluminum with a knife easily enough.

Used snips for cutting the aluminum a good pair of scissors might work. The builders may use different servos and since the placement is used to develop the C of G I left those out for the builder to determine.

Will have templates for all pieces with the number needed written on with marker.

To develop the C of G for equipment other than the recommended I suggest placing them in position with a small amount of double sided tape to hold things. When the proper C of G is achieved cut the openings for the servos and place the mounting tape for the receiver etc. No added weight.

Gaston I noticed all of your models have the black lettering still on the foam. Before you start to assemble them you can wipe most of the black off using methyl hydrate and a rag. It will get 95 % of the black writing off the foam.

Remember alcohol is skin absorbable as well as through respiration so use gloves and limit your exposure.

I tried that before, I find it still leaves a bit of a mess, I also read that CA debonder works well but I haven't tried it yet.
That way they look like a house under construction or more like repairs everytime I go flying anyways but thanks for the tip.
I just made some aluminum templates as you suggested, I'll let you know how I make out with them later.
