Question OS V spec won't idle

Hey Guys

I'm running out of ideas. I have a V Spec with less than 2 gallons thru it and it won't idle. The idle screw is all the way in. If I keep the revs up it runs fine plenty of power. It's not the fuel lines or tank either , replaced that and a different motor runs fine with it. The carb if you run it without the air filter spits fuel out of it ( showing that it's running rich). I have also replaced the front bearing and inspected all internals and looks fine, con rod , piston etc all in excellent condition. I will also be doing a pinch to see if this helps. Please Please Please any ideas or help would be greatly appreciated !

Thanking you in advance,
TomasB

Hard to say without seeing it run first hand. If you don't get it fixed, come see me next time we are at the track together and I will try to help you get it going.

Tomas,
I was digging around and I have a a couple of VSpec carbs we can try.

One thing you can do, is remove both the high and low-speed needles and inspect the O-Rings. If they're cracked, bloated, or otherwise degraded, you've found the culprit.

Personally, I am inclined to believe that is the issue if the bearings, piston, sleeve and con-rod are in good shape.

One more thing. Inspect the bottom of the engine. V-Spec blocks have been known to crack along the bottom close to the parting line.

Good Luck Tomas! And it was great racing with you and the rest of Rodeo Drive again.

Regards,

Speed Metal
