Tell you what Ill try and let you know how it works.

I think leaving the oil on all the time will prevent any room for error.

going to have the oil gravity feed through a filter and into the bearings then be pumped back to the top of the cycle again.

Like a funnel on top always full of oil and the collector and pump at the bottom. The pump will keep the funnel full

the main reason to have the oil off on startup is so that the engine spin freely enough to start up.

with your gravity feed and a light enough oil, it may be possible to start up the engine with the oil running. the only way to know for sure is to try.

one of the issues with gravity feed may be that all the oil stays at the top in the funnel because the pump can pump faster than what can flow through the bearings.

consider on cars once the engine is shut off the turbo spools down without any oil going to it, which is my view on it.

i think its a good project. they are fun to play around and tinker with, but so are helis. and helis cost about the same

Guess Im going with propaine

Going to use propaine with a big valve that can be regulated and open and closed fast.

like a garden hose valve ,alot of gass can get through a hole that size
" fast."

Oh s**t Im starting to agree with Norm. Man this is sounding like a reciepy for blowing myself up.

Alot of gass going very fast into a hot pipe. Hose snaps off and goes boom as im flying throuh the air a mile away a second later.
