I have watched guys REALLY abuse them and not break.. Hell Watched George race them in hardcore almost empty and crashed hard a few times and no issues.

How old are the outdrives? I have broken a few but they have been run for a season and were stressed and getting worn out.

I bought brand new smart front and center diffs tuesday from great hobbies. Today was the first actual race day with them in the buggy.

I snapped one last week as well, however after taking a closer look at it I know it was when I crashed hard, must have extended the driveshaft to a point where it poped out and wedged inbetween the cup and the force of it spining must have sheared it off the ball cup. Note this is the first one I have broken since they were released and I run them in every car.

If I were you I would send the diff cup back to Losi, not the entire smart diff. Send it to:

Horizon Hobby
4105 Fieldstone Rd.

Product Repair Centre

They have a cool thing now online where you can track the status of your repair. Saves having to call! Hope this helps.

do you think the crash that broke your shock shaft had anything to do with it? if not then running with a broken shock could have allowed the suspension to compress way more than normal causing the drive shaft to pry up on the outdrive breaking it
