Lander 90mm 12 blade EDF with HET 700-68-1200kv 8mm shaft motor

I had a HET 700-68-1200 motor with 8mm shaft from a previous Changesun 90mm 12 blade EDF that blew up in our HTG Mig 15. The CS fan was defective.
Looking to have a high powered 90mm I thought the Lander 90mm 12 blade might be a good choice with this HET motor. Ordered it with 8mm adapter and assembled it in a Changesun 90mm shroud. There was difficulty getting the dynamic balance until I noticed the motor shaft was moving in and out of the motor along with the shaft end bearing loose in the motor housing!
Managed to secure the bearing and shaft with locktite (without taking the motor apart). The shaft stays put and the Lander 12 blade fan maintains a much better balance.
On 9S (Gens Ace 5000mah 45C) the fan pulls 3200watts/94amps peak
settling to 3000watts/90amps

The HET motor stays relatively cool so it would probably take 10S without a problem. I do have cooling fins attached to the motor (cheap insurance for any outrunner).

I like the 9S numbers as it is no big strain on the batteries.

Re: Lander 90mm 12 blade EDF with HET 700-68-1200kv 8mm shaft motor

Ran 10S today (Gens Ace 5500mah 25C) and the numbers were
3600watts/101amps peak
3400/97 settled

The motor didn't seem to be heating up much.

The Gens Ace 25C obviously don't put out like the 45C, but still reasonable.

I did notice the dynamic balance had changed slightly after some high powered runs previously so a sandpaper washer was added (glued to the adapter) and the fan was cinched down very tight. Since then the balance has held steady.

Numbers seem low, I'm getting more than that with only a 1000kv inrunner.

You can try higher timing, you should be around 115amps and 4000watts on 10S if not more..

Higher draw with high timing is always possible but it often doesn't equate to higher thrust.
I am happy with lower draw. I will only increase the timing if the motor doesn't run smoothly on low.
