CRC Qualifying Rounds...

Remove this ad - become a site supporter!
It's nice to see the original sorting is purely random:

John Summach in the same 2WD heat as Ryan Cavelieri.
Both Fred and Chet Kelsey in the same 2WD heat as Jared Tebo.
Steve Newstead in 4WD with Jared Tebo
I am in 2WD with Travis Amezcua.

Resort is after 2nd qualifier out of 4. There are 29 Heats packed with 12-13 cars each.

Let's get it on!

Looks like that track is taking the toll on the racers!!! Mike broke on the 4wd warm up and John in his race

Does anyone actually like racing with a jump like that??? Sounds kinda basher to me

Despite all the equipment and skill that we thought we had - we are definitely one step behind most of the guys here. Something is missing. Most of us broke in either 2, even 3 of the 4 qualifiers (it's best 2 of 4) - so we needed the final qualifier to lay down some good laps... but by the end of the day 12:30am, the track became VERY SLICK - it felt like skating on ice.... so that was a throw-away...

BUT yet, the "A-Main" guys came out after us and were still shaving seconds off the previous TQ Pace! This is on the same track where the rest of us were sliding all over the place - I almost just pulled my car off the track...

Before my final 4th Heat, I saw Ryan Cavalieri standing trackside just watching the action and I asked if he was switching up tires, and he still suggested that slick tires would be the way to go...

So how do they do it?? They've got an entire setup team I guess... I just can't see how they could have laid down any power and beat the previous TQ, when the track had much higher traction

It has been a humbling experience to say the least - After 4 straight days of driving, my depth perception levels still do not allow me to see a couple of the far corners of the track. It's almost 2am right now, and we are back in the hotel room watching the final heats on liverc.com!!

Tomorrow (or in 6 hours!) are the Mains will be run - this has been a marathon.

The challenges at the MidWest champs are many (driving through blind spots, a jump that is 14 times larger than the cars, etc...) and within a few hours we will see who will be able to overcome them.

I've been reading the blog, I must say you guys are doing great, it seems like a workout to be there so long so many days.

I was watching the liverc in the evening I couldnt believe it went so long when they said they were going to do the 4th round too I nearly flipped! I can't imagine how you guys stayed awake so long...

It made for a nice atmosphere while I worked ony my car for fastcats.

I laughed so hard on John's blog when he said: "I hope my wife hasn't changed the locks" omg lol...

Having you guys down there really made me proud, Goodluck in the mains today that's where you guys shine.
