hanger 9 easy fly 40. retired

My trainer is retired. I was learning a new stunt..... flying inverted about 3ft above the runway I succeeded about 20- 30 times so I thought it was time to get out the video camera and get a recording of it. The weather was damp and humid and the engine wasn’t working to well so I did not get full RPM’s. I thought I would give the stunt a try but it didn’t work, I lost control of the plane and it crashed. It made a nice video so I think it was worth it.

I cant seem to get the video posted any ideas?

Jon.

you tube.

They will accept almost anything. I'm not sure how to upload to them though.

Sorry for your loss.

Was that your wife with you at the end???

If so, Christmas is around the corner, and it looked like all the gear should be OK. Time to start dropping hints for a new, aerobatic airframe before dorked it, you were sure flying it nice. Rolls looked really good for a trainer. I think it was it's time. You are ready to move on.

I liked the editing, and the lack of it in the middle. Good on you for not swearing. If it were one of my crashes, there would have been a few bleeps in there for sure!!!

all part of the hobby! Hate to see anything crash, don't trash it ,take it home and leave it alone for a while, it looks repairable, when you feel better, then try to repair it. It's always handy to have a 40 size trainer just waiting to go. Hey, put some floats on it, they make a great float plane!
Cheers, Dave.

That's easily repairable. The wing doesn't even look damaged! It sucks to crash, but I wouldn't worry about retiring the old girl just yet! You'll have that flying again next weekend.

Cheers!

You're a hell of a sport posting that!! I agree the way you were flying that trainer I think its time for you to move on to a more challenging plane. I also agree you should not throw it out. Put skies on it and fly it in the winter. My favorite part is when your checking over the wreckage and all you say is "Oh Man" then a little laughter then "Oh Man" again. The only thing missing was you saying "Watch this I'm going to try something" just before the crash.

Thanks for that. George

Ya I got some stuff to say about this video.

First off, that was an awesome display of flying with a trainer dude!
Looked like you were trying knife edge. Don't mess around with some crappy "low wing trainer". You are more than ready for something good. What that is will be up to you.

VERY, VERY impressive FOR A GUY WHO JUST STARTED!!!!
Hats off to you Jon!

You did yourself a big favour.

Trainers are not made to do that sort out flying. Why not get yourself an aerobatic plane which is more than capable of that sort of stuff and take your learnong to a new level?

You'll find that the aerobatic plane is easier to fly doing those things and you'll learn to do a lot more as well.

You'll win all around.
