Associated RC8T
Hi all, I just built a RC8T with a Mike Truhe addition engine. The problem I am having is my clutch bell is shimmed right to the end of the motor shaft and yet it only catches about 3/4 of the spur gear. I cant see anyway to move the engine forward any more nore find any extra length. Has anyone ran into this problem before? Any idea's? Thanks

Nope, no washer behind the flywheel cone. I put the cone, flywheel, one spacer, then the clutch bell, then three more spacers to take me to the end of the motor shaft. But that only put me half way on the spur gear. So I took the clutch bell off and put the three shims i had at the end of the shaft before the clutch bell and now i am still only 3/4 of the way on the spur gear. I just cant see any way to move anything forward to gain some extra length.

Ya the motor mounts are the same either way. Making something up is an option, but with a new kit and a new motor, I though the almighty engineers would have already ran into this problem with other kits and maybe fixed it. Sorry Bob, that wasn't a shot at engineers. Just saying.lol
