Whats your next major project....

Well spring is almost here *I hope*, and summer is coming too, so we'll not see so many builds going on, there will be few n lets see who will be among those few building through summer..

I for one will be finishing off my S Connie as its at last phase of construction, all servos are in except for couple mini high torque ones for out board rudders, main custom struts are in mail, bought some wiring to make extensions, flaps needs to be done, half way there....then commence on aluminum foil covering.

After Connie, i will resrart to build my 1/12th scale Concorde from actual factory drawings that came from Concorde's design engineers in France. Some said it's "Someone's pipe line dream project!" yet same was said and more about my Connie 6 years ago by few but it's about to get completed haha!.....Concorde will take me through the summer into fall and winter prolly till i can get on to build my Ziroli DC3 to be done in "Saudi Arabian Airlines late 70s n 80's livery"

There you go, 3 of mine, whats yours....

Re: Whats your next major project....

ACK! This reminds me there is quite the waiting list to step up to the build table.

After Rare Bear the TF F-15 will be back up to the plate and then I have to decide which of the projects are next. I have the set of floats to glass, the scale heli, F-20 Tigershark I bought last fall at the London Swap Meet and the EAA Bipe kit that has been shoved in the corner for close to 25 years. And on top of all of that the Skybolt needs some work after honking it around for 300 + flights.

Egads! Somewhere in that pile is the recovery boat project.

Even though I fervently hope the upcoming season avoids the "Washout" of last year, (pun intended) and flying does take equal priority to building, the smell of glue and epoxy still prevail year round.

Only difference is that in the summer fumes and dust can blow out the open window!

Re: Whats your next major project....

well the Mig went pretty fast, but I still have a neptune 40 size ARF to assemble for float flying season, and a set of floats for the Supe Cub to glass and finnish.

As for big projects there is my 1/4 scale Bates Yak 3 project (going to cheat a bit and get Bob Holman to cut me a short kit), got an Extra 300S on a box on the shelf and theres this big 4 engine counter-rotating thing with big red stars on it that is looming in the future for me (you know I love those Russian planes) looks like a good electric project.

oh and somwher in there I have to build a laundry room for my wife....

Bill
Bill,

I like Russian monsters also, i'm already thinking about building a 6 x 90mm CS EDF powered Goliath into distant future, this is one that has to be done as a model, not sure what scale it will come out to be equipped with 90mm edfs but that's what it will be.

man! you don't do anything small do you?

an224 would be so kewl, and if you go 1/4 scale it comes out about the size of a full scale twin otter no need for radio gear, just sit in it and fly it lol

how about this for a Big Russian.....

Re: Whats your next major project....

Not a major project per se, but I found a NIB Hog Bipe kit for a price I couldn't resist ($120)! I've been wanting to build a bipe for some time, and this will be just perfect.

Thanks, I hope it comes together. There is an option to get an OS 91 Surpass with it for $110 more, could be the deal of the year! I have one in my P-47 and it runs great.
