Brushless is a type of electric motor. The two main types of electric motors are brushed and brushless. A brush is a way to get the electrical current to the armature (rotating part of a motor). A brushless motor uses electro magnets to push against magnets on the armature to create movement.

Brushless motors require less maintenance and are usually more efficient than brushed thus getting more toque and more speed out of it.

Hope that helps.

Also you need 1 brushless ESC for each brushless motor.

It's gonna cost way more than $400 if you want to run 2 of them. Since it is an Emaxx, not just any brushless motor and esc will do. There are specific motors for the Emaxx and bigger trucks which are more powerful, thus needing better esc's. I think cost will be at LEAST $700.

But most people run only 1 brushless motor on the emaxx because they are already very powerful. I think best person on this forum to ask is toby, he has a schulze esc and a feigao on his emaxx I think. He knows a lot more on brushless stuff.
