Anyone have some advice on which radio to buy, I've been looking at the spektrum DX2s, the one with telementary. I do have one nitro car. But futaba also makes some nice radios (2.4 ghz) without tele. for cheaper

I bought the DX3S with the excitement of the telemetry and it was cool while it lasted. I don`t use either now as they don`t work but for $70 to $100 cheaper then the DX3R i think it`s a good radio. I think i paid $200 and change for it new.

I have the Spektrum DX3R, and love it. Simple to use, great functionality, and great price point ! No need for telemetry ...

bang for the buck the dx3r is hands down the best radio out there, the M11x (Airtronics) and the 4PK (Futaba) are THE RADIOS to have, those things are so advanced you can fly rover to the moon. By the way the telemetric BS is just that BS.

The temp telemetry is good to have as long as you don`t run your engine SO HIGH that it melt`s the wire. The DX3S and DX3R are practically the same radio with the S costing quite a bit less. Dave Henry could tell you the difference but from what i was told there the same radio.

I forgot to mention you get two receivers with the radio.

Honestly, unless you are going to make race by race records of all the telemetry options all you need is something like the DX3R. Anything more is overkill.

The KO Propo radio's are awesome. The EX-1 UR, EX-10 Helios 2.4GHz SS and EX-10 Eurus 2.4GHz SS Direct Digital System are there great radio's. The EX-5 UR also looks good.

DX3S - Sport model
DX3R - Racing model

I'm pretty sure the DX3R transmitter communicates faster to the DSM2 receivers and has more setup options then the DX3S.
Theres definitely a difference between the two radios and if you're not and avid "racer" Id recommend the DX3S radio, (cheaper priced)
BUT if you race and occasionally bash then your choice should be the DX3R... great radio!

Spektrum DX3R

I had an M11 last year, and tried the DX3R. I was immediately in need of one. It was amazing in so many aspects! Size, weight, value, feel, battery usage, durability, ease of use, factory support, on and on and on...

I suggest doing yourself a favor, and paying a few extra bucks for the 3R. It'll be money you'll forget you even spent, and your radio dilemma will be over.
