here the story first: I bought this lane almost 20 years ago ...solded i did not had any idea how to start this bizarre jet... 2 year ago i crash a beautiful BVM F86 ..problem with Giro and I was able to save the retract pack ..very ..
finally a friend find a kit...and guess that was my kit from 20 years ago ....funny life ..
take me some time to build , BVM blue air retract , Stumax 110 mm fan who fit perfectly in the duct ,120HV CC creation 120HV and 10 or 12 cells
The jet is ready to fly ..soon ..still on my JR system but I think I will migrate to my new Core TX ..I love this system all my Turbine jet are on the Core and my new Electra ( thanks Rick)
Im posting pictures because its not a build thread
Its one piece wing , first was not sure to do that but its very convenient to plug the 3 air line and the two connection ailerons and flaps
I did not install doors ..im not a very good landing pilot and those will not survive + less complications
the jet weight 15.5 pound ..its almost 1/1 with 12 cells and 1/8 : 10cells
I painted the jet yellow that was the first jet nada receive in 1952 or 1955 no sure
Will let you know how he fly .. my crashed one flew so well until i hit the gyro button ...

Nice resurrection. Can't wait to see it airborne.

What's with the Boeing tag on the tail?

Re: BVM 1989 F86

The BVM F86 was my my second successful DF jet. It was powered by a BVM .91 and had the complete door package. I agree while it is really nice to have it is a lot of work to keep the lines from leaking and the sequence working properly ( a la P51 type ). You will love the plane but I would recommend a gyro on the rudder. It will help a lot on take off and will smooth out the dutch roll tendency the aircraft has in flight. Nice choice on the Boeing chase plane.

Cheers
DW

Re: BVM 1989 F86

It was around 15 lbs as I recall. I eventually converted it to turbine and it weighed about 17 - 18 lbs. It flew great even at that weight.

I built and and flew both the original version and the AFS.
You will like it..looks great in the air.
