Primer before ultracote...

Remove this ad - become a site supporter!
Hello,

I'm rebuilding an hold airplane, there was many layers of monokote or anything like this, so after all the plane was stripped, we can see some color, like red or blue in the wood, after the rebuild should be complete I would like to cover it with white or yellow ultracote, I'm affraid the see the old color, so, can I put a layer of grey or white car primer on all the plane before the covering?

Thank you

normaly, the covering material and it's colour is consistent.just think about the fact that if you are using different colours aside , for a colour scheme, they don't show up one thru the other one, at the section where they cover each other.so, i would say don't worry.
for transparent coverings, or fabric, it might be an issue, but for consistent colours, not likely.
