Ok So how big is a DL 50 compared to Glow
or ZDZ 80 . I was reading a string on here about a GP Patty W. Extra unless this is a different plane than I am thinking it is about a 120 2stroke glow and they are talking DL50

The only GP Patty Wagstaff Extra that I can see on GP's website is a 1.60 ARF. If you look at the specs, they recommend a 41cc-65cc gas engine for this plane. If this is the right plane then the DL50 is the perfect fit.

Check it out here:

dl 50 = 50cc
glow 120= 1.20cu

one cu = 16.39 cc therefor the glow120: 1.2cu x 19.39=19.6cc BUT the gas motors generally don't put out like the glow ones do so a direct displacement comparison isn't possible altho without any gas experience i would think that a dl50 is a bit on the big side for a 120 sized bird although i've seen a saito 125 on a 40 sized trainer and it flys superb

I believe that Frank Klink, a member here, has a DA50cc in his Patty Waggstaff Extra 300 and it flys absolutely great! It was his main IMAC bird a couple of years back and he did pretty good with it!

I'll have to check it out but I too don't believe its a 1.20 size plane but is indeed the 1.60 size as mentioned above.

Yep, we were right. Here are the specs:

As Gary pointed out the link in Grizaks post is for a 25% Extra 300s in Patty Wagstaff colours.

Requires: 2-stroke 1.6-2.1 cu in (25-35 cc) or 4-stroke 2.0-3.0 cu in (33-50 cc) glow or 2.5-3.8 cu in (41-65 cc) gasoline engine

Where do you see 1.20 four stroke in the recomended engines?

You must be talking about a different, smaller model like around 68" for a 1.20 FS.

And keep a ZDZ 80 away from even the 25% one, that sucka is for 33% airplanes.
